Course One: FLASH POINT: De-Escalating and Preventing Violence in the Workplace. Research shows that over 2 million people are affected each year by violent victimization’s in the workplace at a cost of over 100 billion dollars to U.S. corporations annually. Violence, however, is almost always evolutionary with warning signs along the way. Students are equipped to:
- Understand what Workplace Violence is
- Recognize Behaviors of Concern before violence occurs
- Understand how to report concerns once they are observed
- Recognize indicators that a co-worker might be involved in a Domestic or Intimate Partner violence relationship…and what to do about it
- Understand key strategies for De-escalating tense situations in the workplace
Course Two: Shots Fired: How to Survive an Active Shooter: Participants will learn proven techniques, stats from the FBI, and different methods to survive an active shooter.This course is taught by a professional, proven and well qualified instructors. At the end of the lecture, participants will have been taught the survival mindset, the differences between an active shooter and hostage situation, practices of surviving an active shooter versus a hostage situation, how to interact with law enforcement during an active shooter incident, recognizing pre-incident indicators, and identify preventative measures to avert violence.
Course Three: Behavioral Situational Awareness: How to See Signs of Violence: Workshop This workshop is presented with most of Shots Fired: How to Survive an Active Shooter elements. In addition, behavioral situational awareness and signs of impending violence are covered. This is tailored specifically for the clientele’s needs and teaches the participants steps in handling violence in the environment, but also at home. Signs of impending violence or past violence will be stressed and how to react when seeing those signs. Included are tabletop exercises specifically geared to the clientele that test the participants knowledge, understanding, and reaction to the perceived threats.
Course Four: Realtor® Safety: Lecture 1 1/2 hr Participants will learn the importance of situational awareness in the office, meeting new clients, open houses, or anywhere Realtors® do business. This course is taught and written by a former law enforcement officer and current Realtor®. Techniques to keep real estate agents aware, safe, and out of the risk of danger will be explored. This course will teach Realtors® awareness, preparation, and rehearsal, to be ready if ever faced with credible threats in the real estate world.
